The company has announced that the low-cost cars sold by Maruti in India, such as the Alto K10 and S-Presso, have also provided the ESP safety feature. By giving ESP facility in both these cars, Maruti has announced that all the cars they sell in India will have ESP facility.
ESP safety feature:
The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) facility is considered to be an important safety feature in a car. This facility ensures that a car does not lose control easily.
ESP has the ability to integrate with other safety features in a car such as ABS, Traction Control and Stability Control, adding to the effectiveness of those safety features.
Extra cost for an extra security feature?
Maruti has not increased the price of this ESP feature in Alto K10 and S-Presso. This is seen as a welcome move from the company. Apart from ESP as standard in all cars, dual front airbags and river parking sensors are also available in all Maruti cars.
Maruti wants to ensure safety:
Maruti’s cars are considered to have the least safety features among the cars sold in India. Also, the crash test ratings prove that Maruti is not a safe car. Maruti wants to change this image by introducing safer cars. Therefore, the company has recently been giving more importance to safety in their cars.
Maruti has started offering 6 airbags as standard in some of their high-end car models. Now even the less expensive cars have advanced safety features.
Maruti Alto and S-Presso Price:
The Maruti S-Presso is available in 8 variants starting at Rs 4.26 lakh ex-showroom. The Maruti Alto K10 is available in 8 variants starting at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.99 lakh.
