A youth has been killed after being hit by a tipper vehicle in Senaiyur-Mayilimalai Kalludaikum area under Trincomalee Sampur police division, according to Sambur Borisaar.
The incident took place yesterday (13) morning.
It is known that a 21-year-old V. Vithursan from Senaiyur 6th district has died in the said incident.
According to the Sampur police, the tipper vehicle was seized and its driver detained on suspicion of being hit by a tipper vehicle which was carrying broken stones in the Senaiyur-Mayilimalai area.
People are constantly protesting the stone pelting being carried out in the area. In this case, 9 protestors were arrested by the Sambur police on the 11th and released on bail.
It is also known that the Judge of Mudur Court will go directly to the said place on Saturday (15) to investigate the case which has been carried out by the police.
