20One person sustained minor injuries after a luxury car collided with an electric pole in Thalanguda area of Kathankudi Police Division, Batticaloa.
The car of former MP Sivamohan, who was attending a temple worship in Pothuvil, collided with an electric pole on the Thalanguda main road yesterday morning at 2.25 am.
During this, an electric pole and a car were damaged and there was a power outage in areas like Manmuni, Arayampathi and Kathankudi. After this, the power cut in these areas was repaired and provided after an hour.
The person who sustained minor injuries has been treated at a private hospital and has returned.
The police investigation revealed that the driver’s sleepiness was the cause of the accident. Kathankudi Traffic Police is conducting further investigations regarding this accident.
