Sharmila-Uthaikkannan couple lives in Meenakshi Nagar in Bhasingapuram area near Alankanallur in Madurai district. Sharmila is working as an inspector at Villampatti police station near Nilakottai in Dindigul district.

Burglary in Police Inspector’s House:

Her husband Uthaikkannan has been working as an engineer in the petroleum industry in Qatar for 30 years. The couple has a son and a daughter.

While the husband is working in Qatar, the son is working in a private IT company in Chennai. Police inspector Sharmila went to her father’s house with her daughter after locking the house on the 8th as it was school holiday for her fifth grade daughter.

While her father used to go to the police station every day from home, Sharmila came to her house at midnight yesterday after work and was shocked to see that the front door of the house was broken.

450 Sawaran Jewels, 5 Lakh Cash Heist:

After that, when he went inside and saw that 450 Sawaran gold jewelery and 5 lakh rupees in cash had been stolen, he immediately lodged a complaint at the Alankanallur police station.

Alankanallur police rushed to the spot on information and after the front door of Sarmila’s house was broken and money and jewelery from the bureau were looted, fingerprint experts and sniffer dogs were called in to investigate.

Also, CCTV cameras have been installed in Police Inspector Sharmila’s house. He has also stated in the complaint that he has not been working for the last 10 days as wood furniture work is going on in his house. The Alankanallur police are continuing to capture the CCTV footage of the neighborhood and are investigating.

Police inspector Sharmila has informed in her complaint that 450 pounds of gold jewelery and five lakh rupees were looted from her house at Alankanallur police station. Police sources said that the amount of money and jewelery looted will be known after the robbers are nabbed.
